The Department of Commerce at CPA College of Global Studies, aims at imparting quality commerce education to all aspirant students so that they achieve all round development and growth in their career and other commercial activities. We enable them to meet and answer competitive challenges in the business world and mould them as industrious citizens of the society and the nation.

With the cordial collaboration and immense support of all teaching, non teaching staff and management of the institution, this department , organizes various academic and non academic programs for all students and faculties of the college and also for those of nearby colleges. We routinely conduct Seminars, Commerce Meets, Career Guidance classes of eminent resource personalities, entrepreneurs, tax professionals, successful businessmen etc.

The Commerce department conducts tours and study trips (industrial visits) every semester. It also offers training and coaching for NET /JRF and other competitive exams.

Department of Food Technology

CPA College Of Global Studies – The Department of Food Technology established in the year 2022 with a vision to cater to the needs of the aspirants who are passionate about the science and growing technologies behind the Food.
Food technology is the use of the information generated by food science in the selection, Preservation, Processing, Packaging, and distribution, as it affects the consumption of safe nutritious and wholesome food. Students at the undergraduate level get extensive instruction in the advanced areas of food science, Food engineering, Food Processing, Food microbiology, Food chemistry& Analytical instrumentation, Food packaging technology, Food preservation and quality control, food safety, Food laws and regulations.
Other than core course of Food technology, BSc Food technology degree programme includes common courses of Compulsory English, Additional languages like Arabic/Malayalam (in 1st two semesters), and two complementary courses of Physics and chemistry which are distributed in 1st 4 semesters.

Up on successful completion of the course, students will find opportunities in Food industries (Amul, Britannia ITC, Cadbury, Nestlé, PepsiCo …etc.), Government sectors (FIC, FSSAI, BIS, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Ministry of Food processing industries), Prominent research institutions (NIFTEM, CFTRI, DFRL), Food laboratories and so on.
The Department is bestowed with four faculty members handling the subjects Food technology and Physics. And we provide an atmosphere of experiential learning to mould an investigating, experimenting, critically thinking, curious minds for future. Our department is well equipped with a laboratory designed to support a wide range of chemical analysis. To support complimentary practical such as physics and chemistry, we have laboratory facilities with several equipment as per curriculum.

Department of BOTANY

OBJECTIVE

The B.Sc. Botany programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and apply botanical science in diverse areas of life. Its primary objective is to cultivate the ability to effectively integrate and utilize acquired scientific knowledge in real-world situations.

In addition, the programme aims to develop a deep appreciation of the importance, scope, and interdisciplinary nature of plant sciences. Students are encouraged to explore the vast applications of botany in fields such as environmental conservation, agriculture, biotechnology, herbal medicine, ecosystem management, and sustainable development. Through this training, learners gain a comprehensive understanding of plant life and its crucial role in supporting the balance of nature and human well-being.


ELIGIBILITY

The candidate needs to pass his/her plus two with physics, chemistry, and biology as the main subjects with a minimum of 60 to 70 per cent. Selection for courses is strictly based on marks obtained.

Department of Centre For Cosmopolitan Studies

The Centre for Cosmopolitan Studies was started in2020 in the campus of CPA College.The programme known as UPDATE GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME explores cosmopolitanism, which encompasses global societal complexity, individual experiences, and the openness of a just society. It promotes a social science approach that emphasizes individual experiences in understanding contemporary social and cultural and professional environments, aiming to illuminate the ethical dimensions of citizenship in a diverse and dynamic society.

Th Update is a parallel programme along with the Degree programme. It comprises 10 interactive sessions in each year with Natural Camp, Yoga, and visits to Central Universities. The classes are engaged by well-known trainers of the area.  It also  organizes seminars and conferences, hosts visiting scholars, provides studentships, and publishes research findings.

The department of Psychology has classroom with good ambience that are conducive for students to learn and to pursue practical. The department has a well-stocked library with regular up gradation in booklist every year. Course:

Course comprises of study various aspects of psychological process of human beings is through discussions, theories, practical, seminars, project works, case studies, field works, researches etc.

For evaluation, external and internal methods are applying. External examination is conducted by university for all papers of all semester. Internal marks are on the basis of overall performance, test papers, seminar presentations, assignments and attendance.

First four semesters have complementary courses of physiology and statistics. All six semesters have core papers of Psychology. Their curriculums also contain the practical and project.

●       Bachelor of Physics (BSc. Physics) is a Complimentary UG programme which is divided into four semesters. 1st to 4th semester includes 4 papers along with practical in the last semester. The courses cover - Properties of matter and thermodynamics, Optics, laser and electronics, Mechanics, relativity, waves and oscillation. Electricity, magnetism and nuclear physics.

●       BSc. Physics (FYUGP) is a minor programme for 1, 2 & 3 semester including practicals.The course covers – Non convectional energy sources, Fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, Optics and spectroscopy.
