CHEMISTRY (MINOR PROGRAMME & MDC)
The Department of Chemistry offers a well-structured Minor Programme in Chemistry and a Multidisciplinary Course designed to provide students from all streams with a strong foundation in the chemical sciences. Our curriculum covers essential concepts in organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry, supported by carefully planned laboratory sessions that build scientific and analytical skills.
Both the minor and multidisciplinary courses are designed to complement various undergraduate programmes, enabling students to connect chemistry with fields such as life sciences, environmental studies, materials science, and other emerging areas. The department is committed to quality teaching, safe laboratory practice, and fostering a scientifically informed outlook among students.
1.To offer rigorous and accessible chemistry education through both the Minor Programme and multidisciplinary courses.
2.To strengthen students’ scientific understanding and analytical abilities through well-designed theory and laboratory components.
3.To promote interdisciplinary connections by integrating chemistry with life sciences, environmental studies, and emerging fields.
4.To ensure safe laboratory practices, ethical scientific behavior, and responsible use of chemical knowledge.
5.To cultivate curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for the role of chemistry in everyday life and professional domains.
